World Congress WBAF 2020 - Dress Code

Please note that the World Congress of the World Business Angels Investment Forum is traditionally a formal affair. There are five main events to consider as you prepare your travel wardrobe:
 

Grand Opening Ceremony

Global Fundraising Stage

World Excellence Awards Reception & Gala Dinner

World Congress sessions, including summit sessions and VIP lunches with ministers

Leisure time in Istanbul
 

For Congress events

Men

• For the Grand Opening Ceremony and other sessions: Professional business attire (suit/jacket/tie and dress shoes).
• For the World Excellence Awards Reception & Gala Dinner: A ‘black tie’ event (a basic tuxedo, or any dark suit will work). Traditionally, the suit is accompanied by a white shirt, dark tie, dark socks and shoes.
   

Women

• For the Grand Opening Ceremony and other sessions: Dress pants or skirt (knee-length), dressy blouse and jacket or business dress and jacket, appropriate business footwear.
• For the World Excellence Awards Reception & Gala Dinner: Elegant evening wear.

For startups (both men and women)
attending the Congress and participants in the Global Fundraising Stage

• Startups and entrepreneurs joining the Congress to pitch their businesses are expected to wear business attire, with or without a tie for men.
• Caution: Even if you are a startup, shorts, baseball caps, jeans, sneakers, sandals, and sunglasses etc. are considered unacceptable for the World Congress and will not be allowed.
   

For your leisure time in Istanbul

• Good news: As spring approaches, the days begin to get longer and warmer and by the end of February there are around 7 hours of sunshine, compared to only 3 in the month of January!
• Please check the weather forecast before you take off for Istanbul.
